Matt Posner joins CFE as an advisor on the team’s green lending efforts ahead of pending Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund awards.

Matt is the Principal of Court Street Group LLC, a consulting firm that takes a holistic view of racial equity and environmental stewardship on government programs. CSG works directly with the state and local governments and their stakeholders, including impact investors, investment and commercial banks, regulators, policymakers, and community advocates on the ground.  He has more than 15 years of experience in public finance and policy, with highlights that include testifying before the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance and the House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee on how public finance can solve the nation’s quality infrastructure deficit.

Recent CSG projects include working with the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation, the Public Finance Initiative, the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, and the Nasdaq Sustainable Bond Network and advising a variety of cities and states on their environmental resilience. Prior to CSG, Matt was Head of Capital Markets at Neighborly, a venture-backed start-up aiming to modernize public finances through technological advances. He started his career at Municipal Market Advisors, a research and data provider that focuses on public finance.

Matt spent most of his childhood abroad in Senegal, The Gambia, Bolivia and Peru. He is a graduate of Georgetown University with degrees in Government and History.
