SALARY RANGE: $55,000 – $65,000

THE POSITION

The Portfolio & Operations Analyst will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment, playing a pivotal role in a growing nonprofit community loan fund that is committed to mission-oriented lending. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, providing critical support across the organization and reporting to the Director of Portfolio Operations.

The analyst is responsible for providing support to CFE’s Credit and Portfolio Management teams, executing established processes to ensure the lending cycle runs smoothly, from origination to closing and credit monitoring. This role is unique in its breadth across the range of programs, providing exposure and experience in impact investing, affordable housing, small business, and other innovative social impact finance models.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Portfolio management

  • Supports data entry needs in DownHome Solutions, our loan servicing software
  • In close collaboration with the organization’s credit team, the individual provides support for monitoring the risk profiles of loan assets in accordance with the organization’s Loan Policies and Procedures
  • Supports the collection of documentation from portfolio clients
  • Assists with the generation of credit reports as well as billing statements for our borrowers
  • Assists with designing and implementing client-focused surveys, and evaluating customer satisfaction
  • Helps monitor loan covenants and compliance, including insurance requirements and collateral and financial reporting requirements
  • Carries out administrative portfolio duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.
  • Provides other portfolio and data management support as needed

Originations and closings

  • Coordinates with borrowers and team to ensure all documents necessary for closing have been received, reviewed, and approved as needed
  • Communicates with borrowers and other parties involved in the transactions about closing needs
  • Assists with the initial drafting of loan documents and collection of closing checklist items
  • Orders appraisals and performs other due diligence support as needed

Accounts operations

  • Helps maintain the relationship with our lending partners, including other CDFIs and green banks
  • Generates status and portfolio reports for our lending partners as needed

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION

  • Detailed oriented, with excellent organizational skills
  • Skilled in both verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to fluid work demands
  • Experienced using Microsoft Office Suite and able to pick up additional software and technology with ease
  • Strong problem-solving skills and interest in continuously improving systems and processes
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and challenges with ease
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent education required, some college or commensurate work experience desired
  • Exposure to and/or experience in community development finance, finance, banking, and/or management strongly desired]

COMPENSATION
